Bedtime

I love bedtime with Wyatt. He is so good about going down and has been since day 1. Most nights once I get his bottle warmed up he runs for his room and tries to climb in his bed. It really is so cute. I'm grateful that bedtime is hardly ever a struggle and it makes my life a lot easier!

Wyatt's 4 B's of bedtime:
Bottle... check

A few pictures...

We had a really good Christmas this year, minus a few being sick. It was fun to be with family and a little part of me was glad for all this snow. Although it made it a impossible to get to the Warner's when none of the roads were plowed! Were they on strike or something? I love when it snows around Christmas, to me they should always go hand in hand.

I bought a camera for Christmas but of course didn't get a memory card. I figured that it would just come with it! And you would think the guy helping me would mention I would need one. But oh well! So pictures from Christmas will have to wait until I get them from Kate.

Wyatt loved his toys and it was so fun watching him open them all. He made the cutest face and would gasp in surprise! So that made it fun. He likes his trike and can almost use the pedals, he's just a tad too short. Grandma Susie bought him a guitar that he just loves.

Conversation with Wyatt

Ashley hangs up the phone...

W: "Who is that"
A: "That was Jenn"
W: "Oh"

Wyatt has decided to start talking in phrases, none of this one word at a time crap.

He's great!

I have a crush...

On Dr Drew Pinsky

I love watching Celebrity Rehab... not just because of Dr Drew, but he's the reason I started. Tonight was the season finale and I am scared for these addicts. What a scary thing! They are going to have a Celebrity Rehab presents Sober Living and they have showed clips and most have already relapsed, yikes. So you know I'll be watching.

And really... look at Dr Drew, he's good looking!

Now I don't know what to do, they both are so dang cute. He would love them both.. but which to choose from. Will he out grow the car before the trike? I just don't know... Help!?

When will it stop?

Can I just say that I am SO over this week! I was hoping to avoid this all together, but I guess it just can't be done. Wyatt has been sick all week and I feel like I have done 5 MILLION loads of laundry. Between the barf and the poop and trying to get some work done, of course I had to get my dose of barfing in as well. I was hoping that we were in the clear with Wyatt today. He hadn't thrown up for over 24 hours and I was feeling pretty good about things... but I was wrong. I guess I can be grateful that it was on my kitchen floor and not on the carpet anywhere right? Much easier to clean up.

I am glad that this week with work hasn't been very busy and I've been able to get things done in between laundry and such. I just hope we get over this soon and that Wyatt starts feeling better. It's so sad when they don't really understand what's wrong. But life goes on!

On another note! I can't believe Christmas is almost here. Last weekend Wyatt and I went to a birthday for his little buddy Enzo. Wyatt was completely in love with Enzo's Radio Flyer Sport Coupe! He played with it for probably about 45 minutes. At one point he came out of the room and when I asked him if he wanted one of those for Christmas he said "I like that" and walked back in to play with it again. I'm not joking either, I had a witness! So I think that Wyatt needs one of these for Christmas, they are so cute! It has a little horn, turn signals and a radio that plays cute little songs. It's going to be a fun Christmas morning for Wy guy!

25

This post is sort of a self dedication to well... me. This past week was my birthday. Not only was it my birthday but my 25th! What?! I'm not really sure where all this time went. It feels like last week I was sluffing all of my high school education and livin it up with my friends! And now I have a career, a home and a out of control adorable little boy! I never really felt like I was getting older until I realized that I've hit 25, it's a weird feeling! But I'm excited to see what this new year brings! Go me! =)

Thanks to everyone for helping me celebrate! It's been a fun time. Thanks mom for helping me out so much this past week and for watching Wyatt. A night away has been a great gift!

Some people.

I don't think I am too judgmental of a person. I too have my days where I shamelessly run errands not looking 100%. And I'm sure people think too themselves "She wouldn't be half bad if she put on something other than sweats". But sometimes that's just the way I roll.

Tonight I went to get a rice bowl for Wyatt. He has been WAY picky lately and he has always seemed to like them. And I was right, he practically ate the whole thing. Which is improvement as far as meals go. Moving on... I walked in to the restaurant and a woman was standing there sorta dancing to the music and looking at the daily specials on the board. She was pretty plain and low and behold in sweats, no biggie right. She proceeds to tell me that she is waiting for her daughter and to go ahead in front of her. I walk up to get in line and immediately am bombarded by these two scraggly kids ( I say kids but they were probably like 14 and 16ish). The boy is absolutely thrilled with Wyatt and they both are telling me how cute he is, asking how old he is and trying to get him to say hi. They were completely in my bubble which made me a little nervous. Now with them being so close in proximity I noticed that they were kinda dirty and their hair was REALLY greasy. And then all of a sudden I was surrounded by this family, all five of them. The woman dancing was their mother, the "daughter" she was waiting for was 20 months old and was brought in by another scraggly son who sported some sort of mullet/rat tail combo. Who waits for a toddler? It was just all really weird. The little girl was the dirtiest. I don't know that anyone had washed her face off in awhile and her hair was pretty ratty. The oldest son was telling me how she had this beautiful curly hair and "in fact it is so curly you can hardly comb through it"(obviously) and at this point he was way beyond my bubble and seemed to be completely thrilled to be having a conversation with me about Wyatt and his little sister.

Needless to say even though the mother told me to go ahead because she was waiting on her toddler to get out of the car, they still ended up in front of me. Which is fine really, I didn't mind. And the funniest thing is the mother pulls out this nice new blackberry phone and then they all go out and get in their brand new van. I guess even if the family had showered in the last 72 hours and sported the latest fashions it still would have been odd. I was completely surrounded and my bubble was compromised!

I find some people interesting, and I'm sure some have said the same about me!

Grateful

Wyatt seems to be growing to fast. I see little babies and wonder where the last year and a half has gone.

Here is a list of the things Wyatt does that I love.
1. Signs milk, more, eat, doggy.
2. Climbs up and now down stairs.
3. Dances to ANY music he hears.
4. Throws anything and everything in the tub, and now even the dryer.
5. He loves to play "hide n seek"
6. He has a love for cats; which is not from me; too bad they don't love him back! He's faced a few swats and scratches, but he's tough.
7. He can now open doors if they have the right kind of handle. (Not sure I love this one just yet)
8. Plays with his cousin Charlotte, they are complete maniacs together.
9. Always has to give my friends husband hugs. His face lights up when he comes in the room. (Thanks Shaun for being so awesome!)
10. Pretends to talk on the phone.
11. When he fake cries he makes a face like Popeye.
12. He has to run everywhere, walking is for sissy's.
13. Laughs at himself in the mirror.
14. The second I start taking off his clothes he struggles to get away and makes a break for the bathroom. He can't get enough of tub time.
15. He makes me smile.

I have the best little buddy ever. I am so grateful that he is in my life. He has changed me in more ways that I can even begin to explain. As hard as some days get, I would not change anything. There are people that would love to have what I have and I need to remember to be grateful for every tantrum, tear and everything he throws my way... literally!

I love you Wyatt S!

New Love

This past week I bought Wyatt some letters to play with in the tub, hoping to distract himself with things such as... himself. And he LOVES them! So much so that he just can't wait to get in the tub to play with them. I caught this silly one trying to get into the tub one day to play with them. I tried to distract him with other toys, but finally gave in and just stuck him in the tub. He loves it. And yes, he is wearing one shoe and one slipper, it's just how we do!

Music... cleanses my spirit and frees my soul.

Confession: I love hip hop. Not for the crappy repetitive lyrics, but for the beat. Part of me feels that I was supposed to be a black back up dancer. I envy the girls on "So you think you can dance" and I am in awe of their dance skills. There is something about the beat that gets even the cells in my body jumping. Tonight I danced... all around my house, turned the music up and did my thing. I danced around, laughed at myself and felt totally fine. I think I might do it every night. Some of my favs (not all are hip hop): Justin Timberlake (duh!), Missy Elliot, Eve, Britney Spears, Kevin Rudolf, Keyshia Cole, Rihanna, Ying Yang Twins... among many more. Anything that gets my head bobbing! Some of my favorite memories were making up dances in Linnea's family room to Britney Spears, driving around in Kylie's car blasting and dancing to Britney (see a pattern) or dancing with the girls at the club. We always had so much fun! But life changes, however my not so secret love of dancing and hip hop music will most likely stay the same!

Ew!!!

When I got home from work today I put a box of garbage on my patio so that after I had dinner and did the bedtime routine with Wyatt I could walk it to the dumpster. So I go outside on the patio, pick up the box and set it over on the steps, look up and BAM! Right there on the wall. Is this not the ugliest thing in America?

Seriously, these pictures don't even do the damn thing justice. Pardon me. But I am beyond freaked out at this point. I found some ant and cockroach RAID in my closet and I went to town!! He is now in a pool of Raid out on my patio. EW! I'm so creeped out. I keep shaking my hair and I'm all itchy now. I hate this feeling. Anyway... Jenn thinks that it could be a HOBO spider... so i did a little googling.

It's definitely a possible match! YIKES! Glad he's dead. Thanks for the encouragement Jenn and Linds. Not sure I could have killed him with out your text message support! BLAH!

One step at a time.

I feel like Wyatt's room is going to be a project for the rest of my life. It has been painted now for a few months and I've been searching for the right cowboy bedding. With absolutely no luck. I found the cutest sheets at Target that are for a full bed, and after much debating and searching, I decided to get them and make them work. I mean look how cute they are!

I have decided that I am going to go to the fabric store to find some cute red fabric to make a sort of slip cover for the bumper that I have already. So I'm pretty excited and am hoping it all turns out way cute.

Things that are new in Wyatt's world! He has started to sign "milk" and what I believe is "dirty". It's really fun to watch him grow and learn. These little ones are so smart and know exactly what's going on. It amazes me. He has learned that he gets in trouble when he climbs up on the coffee table, so it wasn't long before he made his way onto the couch. He loves to point at you when he talks to you, as if he's making some big important speech! He loves when you hide around a corner and yell "boo" at him and we can thank Jenn for that one. He thinks it's so funny and it's a game they play when she comes over to hang out. He also ADORES Shaun, Jenn's husband! They are the best of buddies. And Wyatt doesn't really just walk anywhere now... he runs! He's a speedy little thing and thankfully good on his feet, we haven't had any major accidents since he started walking at 9 1/2 months.

Not much is new in my world. My life is consumed of mostly Wyatt, work, a little bit of family and some friends when I get the time. But things are good. I've had one of those "self discovering" moments.. well months really, and it ain't pretty! Don't you hate that? Anyway, I'm excited to get things started and hopefully focus more on myself. Which from what people keep telling me, I completely deserve.

I hope all is well with everyone!

Everyone's favorite little guy!

Yesterday Wyatt and I went to the park for a picnic. It wasn't too hot in the shade and it was nice to be out! In the picture where he is standing between the trees he looks like a headless baby... His head blends into the tree. It's totally creepy, but I thought I should share anyway!

I had to get a picture of his cute new haircut somehow when he wasn't running all over the place, so in his Shrek the Third induced coma I was able to get a few!

This is Wyatt's fun new trick! CLIMBING! Look away grandma. I knew this day would come sooner or later. So all day today we've played "get on the table and you go to your crib". It makes him pretty dang mad and he knows that he needs to be quiet about it too. I will turn my head for two seconds, turn around, and he's already standing up there. So we might be putting the coffee table away again if I can't break the habit.
