metal head

so, wyatt almost made it to his second birthday before having some major trauma. it all started wednesday evening around 6:30 when my crazy kid was running and playing around being the boy that he is when he fell off the couch backwards and hit his head on the corner of the coffee table. i immediately picked him up and he was doing that one cry where they stop breathing (i hate that). i had my hand on his head and when i moved it i had a handful of blood and i think i stopped breathing. thankfully i suck at folding my laundry and had a basket of clean laundry right there, i grabbed a towel and found my phone to call my mom. i stayed rather calm even though i wanted to burst into tears. i called my mom and as calm as possible to not freak her out said "wyatt hit his head, he's bleeding, please come over" which she couldn't hear over his screaming. after being able to communicate to her what was going on, she and amy came over. i got wyatt out of his bloody shirt and into some pajamas and we headed off to the instacare. i won't go into details of the visit because it was horrid. he cried, i cried, it was just not fun. and now he has 4 staples in his head! i'm not sure why they used staples opposed to stitches, i'm assuming because of where it is? anyway.. here are his knarly staples...

we went back into the instacare this evening to have them looked out, the doctor said that it is healing great and has already come together. just no swimming for us.. guess i'll have to cancel all our huge pool plans! damn. he gets to have them taken out next friday or saturday, the doctor said it didn't really matter. hopefully we don't have to do this again, it was no fun!

two posts in a day.. ya'll are so lucky!

i love little boys and i love this warmer weather. wyatt loves playing "side" on the patio with his bike and cars. he says hi to everyone that walks by and he gets SO dirty! after he had been playing outside we ran to the store to pick up a few things and the lady in the check out line looked at wyatt and said "boy you must have had a fun day!". his face is covered in dirt and so are his clothes. he loves being outside and i love me a little giggly boy covered in dirt!

Can I interest anyone in a little reading? Perhaps in the laundry basket? Usually when Wyatt is in his room he is either looking at books or playing with his cars. This happens to be his new spot for reading.

Wyatt and his best friend... the fridge. Most days when I am working and it gets really quiet I know where I can find Wyatt. These pictures were taken on two different days. He cracks me up.

Who has a beautiful child? Oh that's right.. I do. =)

wyatt and jack

This weekend Wyatt and I hung out with Jackson and had a blast. Boys are so much fun and really easy to entertain. Friday night Jack was not in the least bit happy about his parents leaving him. He stood by the window for awhile, but Wyatt was there right by his side.. mainly wondering why he was crying.
Not a happy boy.

I love the look on his face, I think he just wanted me to go away.

This is when things started to lighten up. Here Wyatt is inspecting the tires for him.

And here is Wyatt getting attacked by Diesel, you should have heard the giggles coming out of him. It was SO funny!

Today was much better and Jack greeted me with all smiles. He is such a little flirt! I wish the weather was a little better, but for a brief while we were able to kick the ball around outside and chase bubbles around. And somehow I was able to get both of them to take naps at the same time.. not only did they take them at the same time but they both slept for 3 hours. AMAZING! The rest of the time was spent playing with the dog (mainly Wy), in the tub, and jumping on an air mattress. It was a lot of fun and I think the boys had fun together.

Wyatt kinda gets out of control and just wants to wrestle.

I swear Wyatt either ran or jumped out of most of the pictures, and then my camera died! But we had fun and hope we can do it again!
