The Move

So, it is now official. After months of feeling that it would never happen, and not taking it seriously. We have moved my office to The Gray's house. I woke up bright and early, got showered, woke Wy up and headed over to the office at 8 am. When we showed up the moving truck and Jenn and Kirk were already there. The movers had our offices packed up pretty quick and we were off. It was weird to stand in my empty office and a part of me was sad. I think I will miss everyone stopping in to see us (well we all know they are coming to see wyatt) and going to the office to chat with Wy's favorite Audrey! We have a cubicle, because I will be making stops in the office and maybe even having to do some work too. And it will be super weird not to see Matt that often. Wyatt just loves him! And now he'll have to find new lunch buddies! But my office furniture looks great, it's all set up nice. There are windows everywhere, so no more dark office and Wyatt will actually have room to play and actually see the sun during the day! I think it will be quite the adjustment, but it should work out just fine.

Everything else is pretty good. I am starting to train for The Race for the Cure which is coming up in April. Jenn (not boss, this always confuses my family) and I went running yesterday and holy %&#@! I guess I didn't do as bad as I thought I was going to do, but I will be more excited when it becomes a lot easier. Wyatt really enjoys going out though. He is silent the whole time and just looks all around. He's so cute. I am looking into a jogging stroller because I AM going to become a runner. I know everyone always says that, but it is seriously something I have always wanted to do. So I'm doing it! I really like the Jeep brand, but I am going to keep looking at all my options. I'm pretty excited about it.

My house still has some work to be done. Sometimes I feel like such a slacker, but after my long days and sometimes not getting home until after 6, working on my place is the LAST thing that I want to do. But it will get done. Because I'm starting to really get tired of it not being COMPLETELY done. But it's getting there...

Wyatt is getting funnier and funnier by the day. He just cracks me up! He loves to attack my face with kisses, it's the best thing!

New things about Wyatt:

He now has TWO teeth!

He has started to stand on his own randomly.

He thinks it's funny when I chase him.

He laughs all the time!

When he gets hurt he does not want to be cuddled, just held.

He sleeps on his tummy with his bum in the air at all times!

He loves looking at himself in the mirror. I assume he's pretty excited about what a handsome little guy he is.

His hair is getting longer, and when wet or has gel in it is super curly!

He loves pickles and mustard.

He hates changing his clothes. Sometimes I have to make a game out of it.

He LOVES his baths! He hears that water and he comes a crawlin!

I wish my life was more exciting for everyone else to read about, but it really isn't. Today Drew had his birthday party with his friends and I got a glimpse of what a birthday party for Wyatt in the future will look like... wow... chaos! But it was fun and Andrea did a good job with all his pirate stuff. It was really cute! I even got a skull and cross bones tattoo!

So this is a super long post, sorry! Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Neighbors

I have this lady who lives in the building just west of mine. You can always tell when she is coming because you can hear her music from about a mile away. I would assume that she is probably in her 50's and could possibly be classified as a legal dwarf. I don't think in the 2.5 years I've lived here have I once seen her smile. But I hope she's enjoying her music. She just got home and was listening to the beach boys. One day I was leaving my complex and coming up to where I turn out of my street, well she was turning onto our street and took the widest turn I've ever seen and then shook her head and gave me a dirty look. I wasn't even in here way, I had slowed down because I saw her coming. Clearly she is not fond of me.

The neighbor directly above me is a nice guy. We always exchange our hello's and then go about what we were doing. His dad lives with him, or he lives with his dad... he claims that his dad had to move in with him and either way I guess it really doesn't matter. I don't think he works though, I know he used to work at the gym, but I think he's just now on disability. At least that's what I've heard. Sometimes I hear him yelling at his dad, and it always makes me a little nervous. Today his dad was coming down the stairs as I was walking towards my place and I smiled and said hello and he just stared at me. I guess it was the wrong thing to say. We walked out of our places at the same time again and I fiddled with my keys so that I wouldn't have to have another awkward crossing.

I've never had good neighbors in the condo next to mine. The first couple that lived there had a little boy, it was his boy, and the girlfriend just wasn't ever that nice to him. I always felt bad. And she didn't like me either. Probably because her boyfriend was always a nice friendly neighbor. She worked at a title company in the same building as I did and we ran into each other a few times, which was always kinda awkward. The neighbors after that were crack heads and the cops were at our place constantly. I called the cops on them a bunch of times and so did various neighbors, but mainly they called on themselves and saved us all the trouble. Nothing like a bunch of cops at 1, 2, 3 in the morning. It only took about 6 months to get them kicked out. The owner had no idea how bad it really was. And this new couple... I've seen him once and he just walked by and ignored me and I've really only seen her through the window. But her daughters cute dad always comes by after work to say hi to her. I think it's so cute. He's a highway patrol man, so the first time he was here to stop by I turned down my street and literally said "not again". I'm grateful he's just the dad and I don't have psychotic neighbors again.

On the top floor there is a lesbian and then next to her this other lady and her son. Both of which I think hate me, or are just really not that friendly. Then next to the dad and son combo is Candace. She basically is my only friend in this whole place. And boy can she talk. I don't know a second where that girl isn't on her phone! She was even talking to me AND on the phone with someone else on her little ear piece. She has the most adorable son julian, I think he's almost 5. There is this guy on the other side of our building who parks right next to me. And for the past 2.5 years he has not once said hi or smiled at me. I used to think he was gay, but then noticed that recently he and the girl he lives next to have a little thing going on. I'm also pretty sure that another guy that lives on that side is my cousin Lynsi's brother in law...

I think people are so interesting. My complex is pretty quiet, and I wish it was a little more upbeat. It would be fun to be able to get together with some of the neighbors. One of the condos just south of mine is for sale... I'm really hoping Mr Tall Handsome Fabulous Husband to be moves buys it. So everyone keep their fingers crossed for me!

Wyatt's Room

So I've FINALLY decided on a theme for Wyatt's room. It is going to be a cowboy theme. I got the idea off of someone else's blog that was sport themed, but they had awesome black and white photos of old sports legends... so I'm going to do the same with cowboys... here are a few posters that I found. I think they are awesome!
Wyatt Earp
(Obviously have to have this!)
John Wayne

John Wayne... He's so handsome!

Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid

The Magnificent Seven

His walls will basically be a tan color with that cool technique where it looks suede! And I'll incorporate some red in there somehow and some browns. I was thinking to buy some of those vinyl stars; like the ones that will be on his name board; in red to put around the room.... I'm really excited about this! It will be fun. I think the bedding will be the hardest to find. All the cowboy stuff is too... not me I guess. But I'm super super excited about it! I hope that I can start to paint pretty soon. I keep searching the internet for stuff that I can do. It's going to be awesome.

I have nothing to name this...

I've decided that I need to get Wyatt out of my room now. So this weekend I cleaned out the spare room of all the junk from my remodel to get it ready for him. It didn't take as long as I thought it would. Because once I start cleaning something I kinda go nuts and run around like a mad woman until it's done. There are some things that Peter still needs to come pick up... I mean he only moved out like 4 months ago? The only sad part to this story is that I have to take his crib apart to get it through the door! But I think one of the main reasons that I am excited to get Wy out of my room (besides the fact that it will be nice to get him in his own) is that I get to decorate! I'm so excited about it. I purchased some vinyl lettering to do a name board and just got them in! Look how cute! The stars will be on each end of his name. I'm absolutely in love with it and am excited to start this little craft project!

I also got a welcome to do a sign as well. And once I get his walls painted I also bought this vinyl sticker that is a measuring tape and says "watch me grow" up the side of it. I'm way excited to put that up by his door. It's going to be great. His room is bigger than I thought so I'm going to have to get some cute furniture or something for him. Which will probably require a trip to Ikea!

My weekend also consisted of painting! The ceiling on my kitchen is pretty much all the way done and painted and my bathroom is completely painted now. Last night I primed the doors and trim to paint white. They are sorta a tan color right now. And while doing that last night I realized that I will eventually have to do them all! So it looks like it will be a fun spring of painting.

And.... a little picture from our walk the other night! It was so cold that i bundled him up pretty good! Not sure why the color is so weird, but still cute!

Makes my day all worth it...

So... today was going great. And then work happened... which is normal especially when you are at work. I had to send out a few e-mails regarding some short sales we are trying to negotiate for our clients. A short sale is where you negotiate with the bank offers on a house before it forecloses. So it's a long, annoying, time consuming, pain in the rear! Especially if you are dealing with local banks, in which a few of the files we are. They aren't as quick to negotiate a loss the way the bigger banks do. Anyway, a few offers are going to be rejected because they just don't cut it. So I sent this e-mail out and get hate thrown back at me. Which I know they are frustrated and their clients aren't going to be happy... blah blah blah But you know what Realtors that threw their crap at me, I ask you to come manage the 15 yes... 15 offers that I have been managing with these short sales and see how happy you are then, and how far you get with the bank when you submit a crap offer such as yours. *takes a deep breath* And then it gets really quiet in my office and I look over and find this....

Absolutely made my day! He is the cutest thing ever and was just plain tuckered out apparently! And it gave me a minute away from the hate e-mails and some agent telling me "I don't admire you!!!" Ahem. Everyone admires me dear Realtor, thanks though! So now i'm pretty much better. I was very polite back to the haters and just briefly explained to them again how this process works and that if they want to hate on anyone I can give them the phone number to the bank. Haha okay I didn't do that, but I was nice. Even to the agent who doesn't admire me. Oh well! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Love ya!

My place

My place is just about there! I got my blind today that I ordered from blinds.com (way cool) and I installed it! I have painted my laundry room and the base boards, but when I went to cut them realized that the miter box is too small for the size of baseboards I have. So that makes yet another trip to home depot to get a bigger one. Just a minor set back, especially when I was all geared and ready to go! Oh well right? I'm still smiling because it's all coming together after all my procrastination. And I actually like that I'm learning to be quite the handy lady! My future husband will be super impressed I'm sure of it!

Here are my blinds... beautiful I know! I love how fresh it makes my kitchen look, the pic is dark so you can't really tell, but whatever. I'm over it!

I love how this side has a corner cabinet! I think it finishes it off nicely and it's a good place for the soap and scrubbers.

Just a different angle with my blinds in it!

These are my track lights, the brown covers look cool with my cabinets. I still need to finish sanding the ceiling, touching it up and then finally get it painted. I'm not too excited about this job because I have to sand... which means dirty kitchen. But it's going to look nice when it's done. This used to be two flourecent lights with those ugly plastic covers. We took all that down and had it rounded off which I believe is called "bull nose". Fancy yes I know.

Aren't the appliances awesome! Well not the fridge, but hopefully sooner rather than later the fridge will match everything else as well. But it's just fine for now. So there it is! I know i've been asked to post some pictures. I'll be super happy when I get my baseboards put up so that I no longer have my washer and dryer in my front room!

Charlotte that's bossy!

Since Kate mentioned it in a comment Charlotte did the funniest thing to Wyatt today. I'm downstairs with Wyatt on the couch and she comes walking down and gets really close in Wyatt's face; which isn't unusual at all, she completely loves him; and she pulls her binkie out and says "listen". I don't know that I've laughed so hard in my life. I wonder if I wouldn't have laughed if she would have said something more. It was so dang cute. And by the way, her mommy says that same thing!

Oh and I have also just painted my laundry room. It's getting closer!

Pictures!

I finally went and had Wyatt's pictures done. I've been such a slacker about it. But he's just too cute that I needed to go get them done! He was so good during the whole thing and absolutely loved the girl who took his pictures. I was a little worried because his naps today have been pretty minimal, but we caught him at a good moment! They e-mailed me the uncropped versions, but they are still so cute!

Oh ashley...

So tonight I decided that I would start finishing my laundry room. I bought this stuff at home depot that puts texture onto your walls. And I was pretty excited about it, because where I redid the dry wall there was no longer any texture. Anyway, I get it out and start to spray and it looks good, but it smells SO bad. So then i decided that maybe Wyatt and I should leave for a little while to let the place air out. I was probably gone like 45 minutes and my neighbor calls. So I pick up and she says "hey ash the fire department is here" Yup! The fire department! Apparently the smell traveled through my building and someone called them to come check it out. I explained over the phone what it was and as i was pulling in they were leaving. I'm embarrassed to say the least. And now Wyatt and I are headed over to my moms to sleep over. It's still pretty strong in here. hahaha
