Everyone's favorite little guy!

Yesterday Wyatt and I went to the park for a picnic. It wasn't too hot in the shade and it was nice to be out! In the picture where he is standing between the trees he looks like a headless baby... His head blends into the tree. It's totally creepy, but I thought I should share anyway!

I had to get a picture of his cute new haircut somehow when he wasn't running all over the place, so in his Shrek the Third induced coma I was able to get a few!

This is Wyatt's fun new trick! CLIMBING! Look away grandma. I knew this day would come sooner or later. So all day today we've played "get on the table and you go to your crib". It makes him pretty dang mad and he knows that he needs to be quiet about it too. I will turn my head for two seconds, turn around, and he's already standing up there. So we might be putting the coffee table away again if I can't break the habit.

pondering.

no matter how hard you try to change someone, they never will

letting go of your first love will always be the hardest

knowing your first love wasn't what you thought is like a slap in the face

just because you love someone doesn't mean you're supposed to be together

bringing a life into this world is amazing and scary as hell all at the same time

waking up in the morning is so much sweeter when you have a little one

crying is okay and most of the time much needed

not everyone will believe what you have to say, and that's okay

finding yourself will be a life long venture, so enjoy it.

finding someone to be with will probably be a venture as well, but well worth it
don't give up on who you are and the things you stand for

just because you don't agree with someone's views, doesn't mean you can't love them
don't try to be someone you're not, it always gets you in the end
ice cream is ALWAYS good and cures everything... for the moment
if you don't truely forgive someone from your heart, you'll never truely let it go
everyone is here to live their own life... so let them
everyone has their own opinion, doesn't mean it always needs to be shared
you are the creator of your own world....create wisely

spirit found.

We are back from our little vacay! It was so much fun to be with friends and away from work! I wish that we could have spent more time by the pool, but all in all it was great. I learned how ugly Vegas is, that the restaurant Buffalo's should be non-existent, and was reminded of how much I really do not like being in long car rides!

Wyatt with mommy's shades on, which later exploded in the car due to extreme temperatures. No joke!

Me hating the car, I get so restless!

We are here!! Wyatt is trying his hardest to get away from me, but I got the pic!

We found the cutest hat in Walmart (It's all they have out there!!) And I had a heck of a time trying to get him to wear it the whole time. I wasn't going to let that dollar go to waste!

Wyatt by the awesome pool. It was about nap time, but he was such a champ!

I'm sad that we didn't get any pictures of Jackson and Wyatt together. Wyatt just loves Jackson! But I think he pushed the boundaries a little with his cute buddy. He liked to give hugs and then body slam him. So most of the time Jackson was trying to avoid the craziness!

I am grateful for the time away that I had and such a fun time with friends. Hopefully I will get more of these trips in!

Oh and Wyatt has also had his first haircut. He looks so dang cute! I was a little hesitant to cut it at first, but it was getting out of control. I will have to document pictures of that AND his birthday a month ago! So stay tuned =)

And we're off!

Finally the day has come when I will get SOME sort of break from life. We are headed to chill by the pool in Mesquite, do a little shopping in Vegas and if we're lucky some In-n-Out on the way home.

I can not even begin to tell you how much I need to just get away right now. I am what my boss likes to call "Spiritless". I'm hoping that a little vacay will help me to recapture my spirit! For the past two weeks I haven't slept. Usually right around 2am is when I finally fall asleep, and it's kicked me in the butt big time! I am exhausted right now which is probably a good thing. Which means that I'll most likely get to sleep before midnight! YAY!

I also have purchased a new phone. HALLELUJAH! So for those of you who do call me, it will be crystal clear from here on out. Today while on my way to work I was chatting away with my boss (or trying to) when she stopped me and said "I just can't handle it anymore". We both laughed and ended our conversation. Apparently it was really bad. So problem solved, got home from work and there it sat on my door step! I was so excited.

Wyatt is doing well. He has turned into quite the stubborn little fellow. But I'm holding strong and I'm going to break him of his bratty self. Weekends seem to be pretty hard for the both of us, our schedules are all messed up and we argue with one another. Is arguing with a one year old even possible? Because we do. I think we just need to be outside more and not cooped up. Although I love spending a saturday or sunday on the couch, I am a mother of a one year old and I need to learn to accept it.

Anyway, everyone have a glorious weekend. I know I will poolside!

things are looking up!

I am sitting here trying to figure out where July went. Honestly I can't believe it is already AUGUST! On the 24th Wyatt and I went up Millcreek canyon with Jenn and Shaun to roast hot dogs and have some smores! It was so pretty up there and we had a good time. Wyatt would only eat his hot dog pieces if they were covered in mustard. He's a smart boy! Below is a picture of his mustard/chocolate coated face. I don't think he was too thrilled about being stuck in the play pen and his seat the whole night, but I wasn't taking any chances! He's all over the place and I didn't want to have any major accidents!

Tonight I went to watch Andrea's kids while she and Steve went to dinner. They were so fun to be with, I just love them. We were outside doing the swing and Andrew wanted a turn. Ella was hesitant about giving up her time in the swing until I told her that if we can't share the swing then no one will get a treat. I went to push her one more time and she grabbed my hands and said "Now let me think about this for a minute" It was so cute, she decided that the right thing to do was to give Andrew his turn AND to get a treat obviously. But it spared major drama!

I was able to get Wyatt to wear his hat for about 5 minutes! It's a record so far. He's such a little stud. The new things that I love about Wyatt are 1) He gives kisses now! He held out for a long time, but finally gave in! 2) He is all about giving his momma hugs 3) His talking! He raises his hand up in the air kinda like he's giving a lesson or something. It's really cute.

I've been working really hard to not give in to Wyatt so much. He is SUCH a momma's boy. I didn't realize how bad it really was! The more that I stop and think about whether or not he REALLY needs me, the more I realize how tight this kid has me around his finger! It's amazing really. At work he watches my every move. For a few days my boss and I had a routine with him. I would basically ignore him unless we were having lunch or I was putting him down for a nap. If he would cry or fuss, she would go over and see what was wrong. 98% of the time he would stop fussing and continue to play. The other 2% of the time he was hungry or tired. It has been amazing to see the change in such a small time. It's definitely something we are still working on. Now he screams at the top of his lungs if I ignore his whines, and after a few minutes of screaming he'll stop and continue whatever he was doing. So needless to say he's doing better, and the gym day care has also improved. Each day I work out a little longer and they have yet to come and get me! So yay! He still cries a bit, but he's learning. And hopefully he's not tricking me this week!

Sigh...

I know that my child is a mamma's boy. This is inevitable, obviously. Wyatt is so good with people, he loves everyone, he plays like he is shy and all that cute fun stuff. So obviously at some point my perfect little child would have to have a flaw right? I have now found that flaw.

GYM DAY CARE!! I was so thrilled to upgrade my membership so that I could use the day care while I worked out. It eliminates trying to find someone to watch wyatt... drive him to them, drive back to the gym, then back to get wyat and so on. I think you get the point.

First experience with the day care couldn't have gone better and the second time as well. Few tears were shed and each time I picked him up he was playing with other kids. I was so excited!

The third experience is where it all hit the fan. I signed him in and dropped him off as usual, went to the cinema room (coolest thing ever) and 15 minutes later one of the cute girls had to come find me because "wyatt just won't calm down". Sure enough.. there is my child bawling hysterically. So we signed out and left the gym. And the boy didn't calm down, he cried in the car, he cried when we got home, the whole time I was in the shower... I was so baffled by the whole situation. And it happened again yesterday. I did get a longer work out however, but not by much. I'm just thankful the girls are so nice about it and understanding.

Now I don't know what to do or how to break my child of me. I am now wishing that I would have upgraded six months ago when I first thought about it, so that he was used to being around other kids and having other people watch him. Wyatt is with me 24/7, he is great with other people because, HELLO ASHLEY, you're standing right there! He stops what he is doing just to come give me a hug. Yes... it is adorable, but what happens when he starts going to school? Is he going to be doing his art project and stop to give me a hug and I'm not there and then just lose it? K so over reaction, but i'm kind of freaking out. So.. um any suggestions?

Food for thought...

Have you ever walked out of a grocery store feeling like you just made the worst purchase of your life? Like you wanted to turn around walk back into the store and just tell them you've changed your mind?

In my "time of the month" state of mind (tmi but get over it), I feel that way right now. I'm halfway surprised that I didn't walk out of there with a case of beer. I got in my car, looked down at my purchase and was embarrassed. I'm so glad that I didn't run into someone I knew. And No I am not being dramatic. I even went in the self check out lane! For instance beef jerky, honestly who just buys beef jerky? And totinos pizza, who's only purpose is for a midnight snack. I'm not even going to mention the other things that made their way into my basket. From now on I am going to prohibit myself from making any food purchases in the future during this time.
