As a mother (and a single one at that) you always imagine that you're child's first word(s) will have something to do with how wonderfully amazing you are, right? Like "love momma" or "mommy amazing" ha ha But no... this is not the way it has turned out. Yes Wyatt is only 11 months and he's done the whole mamamamamama babble and thrown in the dadadadadada stuff as well. But that's just easy to say. And I know that what happened tonight was just one of those "freak" accidents, at least we can hope.
*Drumroll*
Wyatt: "Hi, dad"... Oh yes, clear as day! The words weren't all jumbled together, it sounded like it was coming from a two year olds mouth! I went to a bbq tonight with a bunch of my guy friends. We were all sitting around talking (I was mainly listening and nodding, boys talk about the weirdest things and they gossip like old ladies!) and wyatt pipes up with a big ol "Hi, dad". I mean seriously. Where did he pull that one out of? The whole conversation stopped and we all looked at each other for a minute and then just busted up laughing, as did he. Which he should! What a jokester he is! If he only knew... It was so funny.
I pretty much love just about every minute with this kid. I feel like every day he is happier and happier. Which makes my job so much easier!
Anyway, I am in need of some serious bed time! I just wrote two paragraphs and then deleted them. I started to get all sappy in a "I'm so tired i could puke right now" kinda way. And no one needs that. It isn't the best blog reading material, and my ratings have dropped as it is! So in the words of the girl at the beans and brew drive thru... "Peace out"*

The Beast...
Let me just start this out with a little disclaimer. I love dogs... big, small, medium. I love them. I plan on having one once Wyatt is a little older. I have always been a dog person, minus the ups and downs that I have had with my mothers dog. Fini is a queen and must be treated as such. Whatever.
So, about a month ago I was at work and taking my garbage out. Like the good person I am, and for some reason I had her son come out to help me. They have a german shephard named Jack, who is a little more aggressive, but I've always been able to handle him. Well on this particular occassion we go through the garage because the cans are in the backyard right out the garage door. So we go out, I toss the garbage and the next thing I know Jack is trying to eat me and in my attempt to get into the garage he BITES my BUTT. Yes.. he got me, no blood or anything, but he got me. If Weston wasn't out there to sort of pull him back (Jack is pretty much as big as Weston) things would have been a lot worse I fear.
Which brings us to this next situation. I get to work yesterday morning when I am told that my boss and her family are going on a very last minute trip to San Diego. So we are getting things prepared and one of the things on the list was to "Get Jack to like Ashley". HA right. So we get some treats, go outside and BAM! It happens again! Jenn grabbed him and I was able to get back into the house with minor injury**. So she's freaking out and her husband comes up and goes outside, grabs him and pulls him by me. Jack is TERRIFIED of Kirk. So then all three of us go outside and it's okay, then Kirk turns around to go back inside and Jack makes a break for me. ARE YOU KIDDING? This dog does NOT like me. For what reason I'm not really sure. Maybe I'm in his "territory" and being that he sees me 5 days a week in the house just isn't enough for him to get over it.
So for the next 5 days, I have to figure out how to feed this beast and get him water WITHOUT getting eaten. You unlock the backdoor and his ears perk up and he's there in no time flat. I'm thinking of ways to get it done and hopefully I'm successful in doing so.
** He barely got me, I have a bruise kinda on my hip and a mark and the shirt I was wearing is no longer. But at least I got a new shirt out of it right?

I can't believe how fast life goes by. Wyatt will be ONE next month. I can't even believe it! He is such a fun little kid with the cutest personality. He now pretends to be shy anytime anyone talks to him. He will smile a huge cheeser, look down, and twiddle his fingers around. It's so darn cute! And I'm convinced he only does it because it ALWAYS gets the biggest reaction. He also is quite the dancer, I love it. One of his personal favorite songs is 4 minutes by Madonna and Justin Timberlake and now Crazytown's starry eyed suprise. And of course he is walking all over the dang place. Although he started a little over a month ago, he's pretty much mastered it now. And suprisingly we've only had a few bumps. He's been pretty cautious so far, it's when he gets super excited we get a bump.
So I guess now I have to plan his birthday party. I know it's a big thing, but really how much can you do for a one year old? It will be fun though! So I'm going to get planning now!

some updates
I kinda almost forgot that I was a mother, well I didn't forget but it was weird that this mothers day I received things for being a mom. So it was nice!
Wyatt is so dang funny. He just cracks me up, he is in to EVERYTHING! At home I'm okay with it, I let him roam around and do what he wants. (within reason!) Work kinda the same too, but when I'm other places it's a little harder and I feel like I have to watch him more carefully. So it becomes pretty exhausting. He isn't in one place for too long unless he's completely worn out.

Wyatt has a few new favorite things:
1. His bear from grandpa g. (Sounds pretty gangster doesn't it) It really is just about the cutest bear I have ever seen. According to my mom he always could pick out a good stuffed animal. He gets really excited when he sees it and knows that it's just about time for bed!

2.Nilla Wafers
The get soggy super fast, taste delicious and of course make a huge mess!
What teething child wouldn't love these?
3. Sneering
Check out this killer sneer! He's a pro and looks oh so cute doing it to!
4. Dogs
Wyatt absolutely loves dogs.
My boss has a German shepherd named Jack and Wy loves looking out the window to watch him and thinks it's so funny when he barks at us.
5. Walks
Wyatt loves our walks, he loves looking around and talking, but most of the time he's just silent while taking it all in! Last night he wouldn't go to sleep to I strapped him in the stroller and off we went. Oh and he is starting to get really good at walking around, he had lots of practice yesterday at moms when we were all just hanging out. He kinda freaks Charlotte out and Drew thinks it's funny and that he looks like he's trying to box someone, I'll have to get pictures with his fists up doing his thing.
My New Favorite Things...
Baby oil gel could possibly be the best thing in America! It works so much better than regular baby oil and the lavender smells super good to. Use it in the shower a few minutes before you get out and you'll be good to go!
This stuff is also great! I like how it doesn't turn you all orange!

Walking?
Wyatt is 9 1/2 months old and has decided that it would be a good idea to start walking! He's just starting out and I usually get so excited that he gets way excited and dived forward. It's so cute! I will have to get a video and post it for everyone. He also likes to sneer at everyone. It is SO funny. He does it all the time now. Strangers will probably start to think I have a bratty child.
A few of my friends and I have decided to take a small vacation this summer to St George over the weekend. I have found a pretty good deal on a condo. But if anyone knows of someone down there that rents places out that would be awesome! There will probably be about 8 adults and 3 babies. So let me know!
That's pretty much what's been going on. My mom bought a cute shade for my porch and Peter helped me put it up yesterday. I'm so excited to start decorating my patio for the summer. Now I just need to find some cute patio furniture to fill up the space!
Oh and a cute boy has moved in by me with a super awesome voice. He was singing a green day song with his friends while they were moving in. Maybe I'll have to bake him some cookies and welcome him to the neighborhood!

Race for the Cure
Well I finally did it. I signed up for the Race for the Cure on Saturday the 10th. I have nine days to mentally prepare myself to go do this. Sure it's only 3.1 miles... but I haven't been a runner in a LONG time. So I'm forcing myself to become one. I'm on the "Bosom Buddies II" team, so if anyone wants to sign up you should! I am going to go buy some new shoes and break them in before the race. The ones I have now don't have enough support and I get shin splints every time I run. And that's a problem! But I'm pretty excited about it, so wish me luck! And a post just wouldn't be a post with out a little Wyatt. So here's my little stud in his hat. He doesn't mind when he hasn't on and will just go along with his business playing. It's so cute!
